Lord Dhanwantari emerged in his divine form holding the Amrita Kalasa-the pot of nectar, during the famous mythological incident of Samudra Manthana i.e Churning of the ocean of milk to obtain the nectar of eternity. He is entitled as the God of Health by Ayurveda and is believed to be the same by the Hindu Tradition also.
The emergence of the nectar of eternity along with Lord Dhanwantari, who represents health- from the Ksheera Samudra(Ocean of milk) was possible only after the prolonged and sincere act of churning. This incident indicates that the treasure of health and happiness lies hidden deep in all of us. We can churn its essence out and enjoy its benefits only when we realize the values of being healthy. This can be achieved by following a disciplined lane of approach towards our food habits, behavioral patterns, moral ethics we follow and life style. Good health can also be obtained by following the instructions and advices preached in Ayurveda towards achieving a better quality and quantum of life and of course by worshiping Lord Dhanwantari.
For good healthy life enchant this verse:
“Om Namaami Dhanwantari aadi Devam sura asuraihi vandhita paada padhmam..
Loke Jaraa ruk bhaya mrithyu naashanam Dhaataaram eesham vividha aushadheenaam”
